Met with Agent Kent Wilson of the BATFE this past Tuesday (May 5th, 2009) because we applied for our FFL. At the end of the interview, he said that we should have the FFL in 2-3 weeks.
More later. Too much work/stuff to do.

Since this is a class at LCC, don’t bring a firearm as this is against the school’s policy. If you’re not already a student at LCC, it would behoove you to call the school (463-3000 main campus, or 463-5252 for their Community Ed department) to find out how to register for the class. One may also go here (http://www.lanecc.edu/schedule/community/regform.htm) to get the registration form to register for the class.

We recently went down to the People’s Democratic Republic of California to take additional firearm related courses. We lucked out and had a very good instructor, but my God….the people are weird! In one minute, I counted no less than 5 people wearing shorts IN THE END OF OCTOBER! Apparently, Californians didn’t get the memo that the it’s supposed to be cold.
It also turns out that everything is illegal. My pocket knife (Benchmade Infidel) and my .22LR pistol (Sig Sauer Mosquito) – because it has a threaded barrel,…. and the list goes on. But, on the good side, we only encoutered a couple of freaky drivers. The people were really nice, the food was good (I’m still upset that they didn’t really have any Mexican restaurants), and they have Starbucks. All in all, it was a good experience.
I will say that in spite of the positive experience, everything is EXPENSIVE! A $2.88 binder up here costs $10-$12 down here. I don’t recall if that included sales tax or not. But at those prices, it doesn’t much matter.
We may be going back in the early part of November in addition to our trip to Utah the second weekend of November.
I wish to give thanks to my very talented brother, Larry, who’s designing this fabulous site for me. We’re hoping to have all the legal hud in place to start classes come January. Selling firearms will be new for us, and we’re hoping to have notice back from the ATF on our FFL application by January as well so we could also offer that service to you. In addition to our usual suppliers, we’re also working on becoming official/licensed dealers from such companies as Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson,…..
Also, to make life easier, we also have our own Notary Public to notarize your concealed handgun license applications.
